We are in a time and condition where fewer people would probably answer that question than those who would not. According to experts, up to 90% of Slovaks suffer from spinal pain. No wonder. We put a strain on it on a daily basis. Many times we make it sick even when we think we are doing it good. What are some of the most common bad habits that harm our spine?      <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Heavy bag or handbag<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Probably the children feel it the most. The general rule is that a school bag should not weigh more than 10% of a child&#8217;s weight, but this is rarely the case. Often, even a first-grader who hasn&#8217;t carried any weight on his back weighs 5 or 7 kilos. And that&#8217;s not even mentioning the strain that shoulder bags put on children. Unfortunately, the habit of heavy bags leads to nothing but bad posture, pain and sometimes even scoliosis. It is therefore important to consider the contents of the bag and choose what the child really needs to carry in the bag and what not.     <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And although it&#8217;s not talked about as much, it applies to adults too. A heavy laptop in a one-shoulder bag just doesn&#8217;t do your spine any good. Neither does a full backpack with uncomfortable straps and no back support or a fully loaded purse.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spinergo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/shutterstock_388657213-768x512.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8448\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Life on a high or flat foot<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Truly, ladies, even the beloved high heels or, on the contrary, completely flat flat soles, such as ballerinas or flip flops, do not do our backs good and contribute to poor posture. The spine needs good support and thin stilettos or flip flops just can&#8217;t give it. With stilettos, the load is transferred from the back to the toes and this changes the balance of the body. If we are not careful when we walk, the spine starts to suffer under this influence. Health shoes are not a fiction, it is good to choose them for yourself as well as for children. Of course, it is also important not to slouch if you already have to \/ want to put on pumps.     <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spinergo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/shutterstock_426712288-3-768x512.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8457\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Incorrect back exercises<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s true. Even if you are exercising just for the sake of a sore back, you may be doing considerable harm to it. If your spine hurts, it&#8217;s important to know why and where. This is the only way to determine how to prevent the pain and what exercises are right for you. If you exercise for your back and feel that your problems are getting worse rather than better, you definitely need to see a professional.    <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sedentary jobs<\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One could say that it is already practically a disease of civilisation. Little movement and a lot of sitting at work or in the car causes spinal pain for many of us. Millions of people suffer from them sitting for hours at computers, musical instruments, with their own patients, over schoolwork&#8230; The body crouches when sitting, the arms and neck strain forward, and our movements engage very few muscles&#8230;  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spinergo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/shutterstock_572526787.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8477\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fortunately, we are in an era where the problem of prolonged sitting can be addressed. Not so long ago, a simple fitting chair would have helped, but today you have an even better solution &#8211; a medical chair. Paradoxically, the very chair that has been doing your spine a disservice can help it if you choose the right one.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And what does that mean? If you sit in one place every day, you should definitely choose an ergonomic chair that moves with you. It engages many more muscles, the movements are more natural and the spine gets a lot less strain. It is also ideal if the chair can be stopped for a while.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Slovakia, you can choose from a number of medical chairs.
